The Fiji Society for the Blind was established in the year 1970 by public support led by the Suva Rotary Club, just after Fiji gained its independence.
It is the only full-service non-profit National Agency providing rehabilitation education, training and assistance to people who are blind or partially sighted.
Serving the whole of Fiji, Fiji Society for the Blind is located in Suva and has been serving our community for more than 50 years.
The Society provides people who are blind or partially sighted with the skills they need to interact efficiently and effectively within the visual world. The Society staff liaises with other agencies working in the disability field and supports existing medical and social service agencies to improve the quality of life for people with visual impairment. They also work to provide information on eye care and prevention of loss of sight.
